The Classic Vibe™ Active ’70s Jazz Bass® draws its inspiration from the infamous basses that defined the funky tones of the 1970s, adding an onboard preamp for the ultimate combination of vintage looks and modern performance. Powering this Squier® groove machine is a pair of Fender Designed™ alnico Noiseless™ J Bass® pickups for punchy hum-free signal. The 9-volt preamp provides controls for volume, pickup blend, treble and bass boost, and a toggle to switch between active and passive for complete tone-shaping control. Other details include a HiMass™ bridge for optimal resonance, a striking bound fingerboard with block inlays, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tinted gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.
- CASE/GIG BAG: Not Included.
FENDER DESIGNED NOISELESS PICKUPS
Designed in-house at Fender, the dual coil design of these alnico pickups eliminates unwanted noise from the signal while retaining tonal richness, detail and punch.
9V ACTIVE PREAMP
Powered by a 9-volt battery, this preamp includes controls for volume, pickup blend, tone, and treble/bass boost.
ACTIVE/PASSIVE SWITCH
With a tone knob that functions in both active and passive settings, the electronics include a switch on the control plate to engage the preamp for added bass and treble boost control.
BOUND FINGERBOARD
The bound fingerboard not only adds vintage charm to this instrument, but also improves visibility of the side markers in dark playing environments.
HIMASS BRIDGE
This top-load bridge features a plate with more mass that adds resonance and sustain while the 4 beefed up saddles seat nicely inside saddle slots for rock solid intonation and stability.
VINTAGE-TINTED NECK
With gloss finish for slick playing feel, this neck has a subtle tint for a throwback look.

At Easy Music Center, we care for our instruments from the moment they arrive to when they ship to your door. All instruments are stored in a climate controlled environment and put through a 12-point inspection checklist before being shipped.
First, we check the finish of the instrument, carefully inspecting any blemishes on the surface. Next, we check the playability and setup by inspecting and adjusting the truss rod (if available), bridge, nut, and frets to manufacturer factory specifications. Any request made outside of manufacturer factory specifications can incur additional charges for parts and labor. If the instrument has electronics, we test all of the electronic components to make sure they are functioning properly.
After a thorough inspection, we then move on to maintenance. We start by lubricating any moving parts on the instrument, such as tuning machines. We then move on to cleaning and oiling the fretboard along with the frets.
Once maintenance is done, we stretch and tune the strings and play test the instrument. After this, we do a final inspection and clean/detail the instrument before packing it up for shipment.
We’re excited to be a part of your instrument buying experience.
