This exclusive Gibson Les Paul™ Standard 50s features a slightly understated plain maple top in two popular sunburst finishes. These exclusive Les Paul Standard 50s models are more subtle than those classic models with figured maple tops while still featuring vibrant sunburst finishes. Paying tribute to the Golden Era of Gibson, this guitar has all the features of a Les Paul that was made in the late 1950s, like a solid mahogany body, a solid maple cap, and two humbucking pickups. Crafted in Nashville, Tennessee, these guitars feature USA-made electronics, solid hardwoods, and classic design details that have stood the test of time.
- CASE/GIG BAG: Gibson Hard Case Included.
Featuring a set of Burstbucker™ pickups, audio taper potentiometers, and Orange Drop™ capacitors, this Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s has the classic sounds of a Les Paul. A Burstbucker 1 pickup with an average DC resistance of 7.8k is mounted in the neck position, which supplies warm rhythm tones. In the bridge position sits a slightly higher-output Burstbucker 2 pickup for searing lead tones, measuring in with an average DC resistance of 8.4k. Both of these humbucker™ pickups are powered by Alnico 2 magnets, which harkens back to the original Patent Applied For humbuckers from the late 1950s. Audio taper potentiometers provide tones from zero to wide open and everywhere in between.
The neck features a rounded, 50s Vintage neck profile that harkens back to the late-1950s. Laid on top of the solid mahogany neck is a rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius ornated with trapezoid inlays. Medium Jumbo frets are utilized, which add a modern playing experience to a classic design. The fretboard features cream binding, which gives a smooth playing experience up and down the neck, seamlessly integrating the mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and all twenty-two frets.
The non-weight relieved mahogany body gives the guitar its signature sustain while producing a hefty tone. A solid maple cap that is carved to perfection is glued on top of the body, which is where the bridge, tailpiece, and pickups are all mounted. The plain maple top gives a subtle yet refined appearance with the transparent sunburst finishes applied to the top. Single-ply binding is in place around the outer seam of the maple and mahogany, which frames the entire guitar for that classic Les Paul appearance. The finish is gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which will enable the guitar to age with grace as it is played throughout the years.
Proudly crafted in Nashville, Tennessee, this Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s is an understated take on a model that has proven to be a modern-day classic. The plain maple top is perfect for those who want the vintage look of some famous “Bursts” from the original run between 1958 and 1960 while having the choice between Iced Tea and Dark Cherry Sunburst finishes. Included with the guitar is a Gibson hardshell case and a Gibson Accessory Kit.

At Easy Music Center, we care for our instruments from the moment they arrive to when they ship to your door. All instruments are stored in a climate controlled environment and put through a 12-point inspection checklist before being shipped.
First, we check the finish of the instrument, carefully inspecting any blemishes on the surface. Next, we check the playability and setup by inspecting and adjusting the truss rod (if available), bridge, nut, and frets to manufacturer factory specifications. Any request made outside of manufacturer factory specifications can incur additional charges for parts and labor. If the instrument has electronics, we test all of the electronic components to make sure they are functioning properly.
After a thorough inspection, we then move on to maintenance. We start by lubricating any moving parts on the instrument, such as tuning machines. We then move on to cleaning and oiling the fretboard along with the frets.
Once maintenance is done, we stretch and tune the strings and play test the instrument. After this, we do a final inspection and clean/detail the instrument before packing it up for shipment.
We’re excited to be a part of your instrument buying experience.
