DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED IN ANDALUSIA SUPERBLY RESPONSIVE
In developing our new Classical and Flamenco guitars we started our journey in CÃ¡diz, the beautiful most southern province in Andalusia and the home of the Classical guitar. Our aim was to learn more about the history, the music and construction of these amazing instruments before embarking on R&D. We started in the small hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera, just south of the city of CÃ¡diz where we met, talked and worked with local luthiers and players in the CÃ¡diz area.
Over the coming months we studied four different construction styles and bracing systems and went to work building samples in our factory based on designs and guitars we made in Spain. The result of our journey and work is something we believe is very special and weâ€™re proud to introduce CÃDIZ SERIES.

CÃDIZ offers responsive and engaging nylon string guitars of a quality and playability we think youâ€™ll adore.Â Everything about them is considered and chosen. They are a new shape, different to Classicals we have made in the past, slightly taller, slightly narrower, more elegant.Â The soundbox is more lightly built, the tops are graduated and each brace is custom cut and sanded with 4 varying widths in total.
The bracing design gives a slight nod to that of the Jose Ramirez IIIâ€™s asymmetric architecture in the fact our guitars have a treble bar. This is to stiffen up the treble side of the top a little more which helps us create very round, bell like trebles on our first three strings. We keep the bass side of the top light by using slightly thinner braces which helps us give the player very open, clear and strong bass response.
In order to make the guitars as responsive as we could, we had to keep them as light as we could in construction while staying true to traditional design. So in the standard models there are no trussrods. Our necks are three-piece and a solid Ebony centre rod gives us the strength and lightness we need. Our Hybrid models do have a trussrod to allow for relief to be adjusted on the radiused fingerboards. CÃDIZ models are also made with a Spanish heel neck joint.
Ramirez and other great luthiers also influenced us when it came to choosing our scale length. The CÃDIZ scale length is longer than the standard 650mm (25.6â€) you will find on many classical guitars. At 660mm (26.â€) our scale length raises the tension just a little and helps deliver more energy into the soundbox for us to harness and shape.
Other fine appointments include the use of traditional Cypress wood for our Flamenco model back and sides, which is paired with ebony binding. Our classical models are stunning with dark Walnut back and sides and Acacia binding. We use AA Sitka tops on all CÃDIZ models. Saddle and nut are real bone, rosettes are wood mosaic and bridges and fingerboards are Pau Ferro.
We believe CÃDIZ will engage any player, whether a seasoned professional or someone looking for different tones from an engaging nylon string guitar. We hope they will create an intimacy between you and the instrument and as always we have done all we could to make beautifully designed instruments, as affordable as we would.
This CC7 is our beautiful Classical Hybrid model made from Sitka and Walnut with a flawless gloss finish and acacia binding and armrest. It has a 14thÂ Fret neck joint, radius fingerboard and narrower nut width making it a great guitar for steel string players looking for a Nylon string sound without such a departure from a steel string in terms of feel and playability.

At Easy Music Center, we care for our instruments from the moment they arrive to when they ship to your door. All instruments are stored in a climate controlled environment and put through a 12-point inspection checklist before being shipped.
First, we check the finish of the instrument, carefully inspecting any blemishes on the surface. Next, we check the playability and setup by inspecting and adjusting the truss rod (if available), bridge, nut, and frets to manufacturer factory specifications. Any request made outside of manufacturer factory specifications can incur additional charges for parts and labor. If the instrument has electronics, we test all of the electronic components to make sure they are functioning properly.
After a thorough inspection, we then move on to maintenance. We start by lubricating any moving parts on the instrument, such as tuning machines. We then move on to cleaning and oiling the fretboard along with the frets.
Once maintenance is done, we stretch and tune the strings and play test the instrument. After this, we do a final inspection and clean/detail the instrument before packing it up for shipment.

Acoustic guitars and ukulele are made of wood, and wood is sensitive to changes in climate. Shifts in temperature or relative humidity can affect your instrument in multiple ways, some of which can lead to costly repairs if you’re not careful. Solid woods in particular are especially prone to the effects of climate fluctuation. For example, extended exposure to low relative humidity (below 40% RH) can dry out the wood, causing it to shrink and run the risk of cracking. Similarly, excessive humidity can cause the wood to absorb moisture and swell, potentially causing other problems. Without adequate humidity control (especially in drier local climates), acoustic instruments can crack and their necks can warp, causing problems with fretting, intonation and playability.
So how do you prevent this kind of damage? Easy: by keeping your guitars and ukulele properly humidified (ideally between 40-60% RH). The easiest way to do this is by storing your instruments in a case with a case two-way humidifier inside. A two-way humidifier will slowly absorb or release moisture inside your case, maintaining humidity to help ensure your instrument doesn’t suffer damage. Using a digital hygrometer can help you monitor humidity levels around your instrument.
Symptoms of a dry acoustic instrument:
- Low action. Strings are very close to the fretboard.
- Hump on the fretboard where the neck joins the body.
- Sunken top across the soundboard between bridge and fingerboard.
- The back of instrument looks very flat when it is dried out.
- Sharp fret ends extend beyond the edge of the fretboard.
- The plane of the neck angle on a dry instrument hits above the top of the bridge.
Symptoms of a wet acoustic instrument:
- High action. Strings that are unusually high off the fretboard, making it difficult to play.
- Unusually swollen top
- Unusual warp on the top, back or both at the end-block
- Improper neck angle. Sighting the neck to the bridge, the frets will appear to hit below the bridge.

Final Notes on Humidity Control
To monitor the amount of humidity your instrument is receiving, we recommend the purchase of a digital hygrometer, a device that gauges and provides a read-out of humidity levels. It can be kept in the room where you store your instruments, or, better yet, in a central location inside the instrument case, preferably Velcro’d to the outside of the accessories compartment (facing the heel). The optimal range for your guitars and ukulele is 45-55% RH.
